He Makes All Things New

He Makes All Things New

And he that sitteth on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he saith, Write: for these words are faithful and true. Rev 21:5 (ASV)

These words were spoken to John about the new heaven and the new earth that are to come. That doesn’t mean that Christ is not at work at this very moment in time, makeing things new. In fact, we are assured that when we give our lives to Him, He is faithful and gives us a new birth. We start fresh, being forgiven of our sins, and embraced by a God who was willing to die for us. He wants us to cast off the old and be clothed in new garments of rightousness.

As we start a new year this coming week, maybe it’s time to start living up to our promises to Christ. Are there things in your life that need to be put behind you so that you can more effectively serve Him? In your new life, are there things that you can be doing to strngthen this new self that you have been given? Take time, this next week, to review who(se) you are, and what in your life needs some attention and prayer, so that you will be the new person that Christ envisions, and that, when you gave yourself to Him, you hoped to become. Let’s all become the Church that Christ died for.
